Camp 507 recently honored Confederate Amos Richard Horsley by placing a military footstone at his grave and performing a memorial service. Amos is the Great Grandfather of Camp member Stan Nix.
Amos was captured near Dalton, Georgia and spent the last year of the war in the Union POW Camp Morton, Indiana. The service was held at 1 o’clock on the 31st of July. Amos is buried at the Poplar Springs Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery just north of Bowden, GA.
