Members of Chattooga County Camp #507 spent Saturday June 6, 2009 working in Farmersville cemetery and setting two new headstones for Confederate soldiers. There were several trees down on the ground and on top of stones that had to be moved. The work in this cemetery isn't finished by a long shot, but at least it's started.
Also, as an added bonus, Camp 507 helped to locate a fellow SCV member's ancestor.
"Bless you Dale, and your SCV Camp! You have found my 3G grandfather, Levi Sanford Scogin, and brothers. He was known as "Pap" Scogin throughout the Dirt Town Valley. Is my 3G grandmother buried beside him? I will try to come and visit this summer. Thank you so much. " Ralph Mills
